Who We Are
Founded by J. Boone Dryden, Sheer Speculation Press comes from a history of creative writing in the science fiction and fantasy realms. Boone holds an MFA and a JD, only pointed out to show the strange pairing he came to possess in loving logic and creativity. A career change and a change in the fiction industry has brought about a shift in interest, and here we are producing games instead.
We hope you like some of the teasers we’re working on, and we’ll post full-length material as we get it completed.
Design Philosophy
We fundamentally believe in player choice. That is the focal point of any game that we develop. Too often, games rely on chance, GM fiat, and linear narratives. We hope to create games that not only encourage autonomy but bake it into the mechanics themselves.
We also believe in building design around inclusivity. The more people who are able to see themselves in our games, the better the world is.
